(NEW YORK) After effectively conquering the West Village dining scene with The Waverly Inn, Graydon Carter is taking its act uptown. The Vanity Fair editor purchased The Monkey Bar in August 2008 with partners Jeff Klein and Jeremy King; initial reports cited a re-opening date to be set in the summer of 2009. Daily spies, however, cite that things are already heating up--Fern Mallis, George Wayne and Elise Øverland were all spotted eating at the restaurant, located in the Elysee Hotel at 60 East 54th Street, on Saturday night.
