An Exclusive Engagement
(PARIS) YSL has always been a golden ticket in Paris, but with a severely reduced venue that took guests from Grand Palais to Le Palais de Tokyo, this season the invites might have been platinum. So, only friends were invited to the show. Luckily for Stefano Pilati, he has a lot of famous ones. We’re talking about Catherine Deneuve, Claudia Schiffer, and of course, Kanye West and Amber Rose. “We just had the best time in this city,“ said the entertainer excitedly. “This is like the best-extended vacation ever. We’ve actually just shot my "Robocop" video and Amber will be starring in it.”
Schiffer, meanwhile was busy getting compliments and air-kisses streaming from her starring role in the Spring campaign. “It involved crazy stuntmen because we’re up so high and lots of ice because we, of course, chose a 100-degree day to shoot,” she said. “But based on the reviews, the sacrifices were worth it!” Audrey Marnay merited attention from front row guests like Elizabeth Saltzman and Mario Testino because she was wearing something that coincidentally matched the runway. “I picked my dress myself,” she explained. “And I got lucky because it looks like I’m wearing a new collection with the divine mix of cashmere and leather.”
But the real topic of the night was the recent marriage of Pilati’s boss François-Henri Pinault to Salma Hayek. What should their wedding presents be? “What do you give to someone to someone who has so much,” mused Deneuve. “How about a magical set, so François can play some tricks for Salma. I’m sure she’d be very impressed.” “Definitely a Saint-Laurent something,” Stephen Gan decided. But West recommended something that he only wishes on his closest acquaintances: “Front row to every show in the world!”
