(NEW YORK) Prada's "Iconoclast" party was less the celebrity-driven soiree of the past and more a celebration of true fashion, with W's Alex White taking over as guest stylist for the store. The collage-like wall of the SoHo flagship was reminiscent of a Richard Prince painting. Piles of shoes were displayed on the top floor, resembling a boudoir in homage to their Spring collection of louche separates.

Miuccia Prada was absent from the proceedings, but fellow Italian designer Alberta Ferretti showed up in support and chatted with T's Stefano Tonchi. Zac Posen and Philip Crangi were seen drinking grapefruit cocktails and noshing on lamb, lobster, and foie gras.

Downstairs, the feeling of being inside a couture closet persisted, with large open trunks flanking the rooms. Display cases were lined with dozens of the latest Prada scents in a repeatedly maximal format that defied the economic climate. Zoe Saldana was the sole Hollywood representative, but Prada campaign beauty Sasha Pivovarova was the center of attention in a large black furry coat and dark make-up.

Hilary Alexander of The Daily Telegraph said she'd opt for a more foreign locale if she had the choice of guest editing a store. "I'd choose the Bazaar in Marrakech. I’d have brilliant music and hookah pipes everywhere. I’d have a ball." Sign us up for that one next!
