The Return of the Angels
(NEW YORK) Victoria’s Secret's prized angels Adriana Lima and Doutzen Kroes had one of the most demanding days on record yesterday, switching outfits at least four times for a number of appearances, hundreds of interviews, signings, and other commitments to promote the brand’s “The Return to Romance” initiative. There was just one way for whirlwind day to end: with a happening bash at The Bowery Hotel. The Brazilian and Dutch beauty held court on two sides of the space and Kroes automatically conceded the dance crown to her friend. “Adriana’s an amazing dancer,” she smiled. “I don’t want to stand next to her when she does her thing. It’s so sensual and the rhythm, she just feels it!” ‘
Kroes didn’t do so bad herself, entertaining an entourage that included her boyfriend DJ Ruckus and Zoe Kravitz. Lima watched approvingly, recollecting her very first VS experience: “It’s scary when I think about it, but it’s been ten years for me,” she said. “I remember my first big show like it was yesterday. I was trembling from fear and nervous!” Kroes, still a normal beautiful citizen ten years ago, remembered that first big VS show. “Wasn’t that the year the internet crashed because everyone wanted to see pretty models so much?” she noted. Indeed it was, but last night the two pretty hosts were main attraction as they greeted guests like Behati Prinslo, Anne V, Alexandra Richards, Ryan Leslie, Candice Swanepoel, Ed Chapman, and Genevieve Jones.
Isabeli Fontana chatted her Victoria’s Secret experiences in between the bites of Godiva chocolates. “I'm a kind of girl that does runway shows in two worlds: VS and fashion week,” she smiled. “And they are just so different. You really get to have fun with VS!” Hayden Panettiere, meanwhile, was talking about her perfect Valentine’s Day date--“I just think a man with a confidence is super sexy!”--before finding Gerard Butler a few minutes later pose with.
