(NEW YORK) "The collection was inspired by Cuba in 1959 and all of the passion and elegance of that era, and also all of the constant partying," explained Mark Badgley. An homage to those who "wore couture day, afternoon and night," Badgley Mischka delivered their signature heavily-jeweled dresses accented with finely detailed beading. The creations spoke to the high glamour the designers were hoping to achieve, while still projecting an effortlessness that is typically not associated with glitz and glam. A pimento red shantung dresses launched onlookers into a Cuban dance club, while ivory taffeta clover skirts softened the look and added depth to the collection as a whole.
