Colossal Circus
(NEW YORK) It's no secret that Diesel loves its own birthday--after all, the brand hosted parties in 17 cities. First up was a 12-hour bash in Tokyo and it ended with a soiree for thousands on the Brooklyn waterfront. For the XxX bash, Diesel constructed an enormous two-level Rock & Roll Circus tent that spanned the distance of two football fields.
Founder Renzo Rosso and his team amassed an incredible array of musical guests, headlined by M.I.A. and also including N.E.R.D., T.I., Benji & Joel Madden, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip, Chaka Kahn, and the Soul Tigers Marching Band. Guests on the lower level snacked of circus fare like hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, and funnel cake while enjoying open bars with cocktails by Ciroc, Don Julio, and Red Bull.
Peaches Geldof arrived with bestie Corey Kennedy. "We made Corey an Axl Rose T-shirt to go with her Diesel ensemble," said Geldof. "It's all very theatrical and extravagant." Geldof joined husband Maxwell Drummey of Chester French on the balcony level at a table with artist Aaron Young. Nearby Fabiola Beracasa (in Levi's!) enjoyed the company of boyfriend Jason Beckman. "I want to get married with a circus party," said Beracasa. Should we be expecting wedding bells soon? Other socials included sisters Alexandra & Theodora Richards who came with pal Paul Johnson Calderon while Victoria Traina came with designer Alexander Wang.
Richie Rich and Roberto Cavalli also dropped in. "I like when people are shirtless and topless," said Rich of his x-rated obsession. Cavalli flew in two days early to attend the bash and support fellow Italian Rosso. "I love Renzo," he said. "He's such a character and I love the Diesel jeans."
In spite of the x-rated theme, teenage actresses Emma Roberts, Emma Watson, and Taylor Momsen all made appearances in the VIP area of the left balcony. "I loved Diesel jeans when I was younger," said Roberts. "Right now, I love Ksubi. I think they just fit so perfectly." Watson drank Red Bull while chatting with Momsen's Mom while Momsen herself caught up with Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford (also in Levi's!) who sat at a table with Lindsay Lohan.
Zoe Kravitz in a pair of Ksubi jeans caught up with Cavalli before dishing to The Daily about her love of all things Chanel. "They had guitar cases at the show this season," said Kravitz. "I don't think my dad's allowed to rock Chanel, though. It's a little too feminine." Stavros Niarchos was rocking a red, white, and blue headband as he cavorted with the legions of leggy models. Is the European playboy planting his roots in the States for good?
When The Daily left the party at midnight, there were still hundreds of fans hounding security guards at the gates. Taxis were in such short supply that even Top Chef star Sam Talbot was forced to walk towards Dumbo in order to make it back to Manhattan.
