A Brazilian Bash
(NEW YORK) It was a family affair Friday night at Pastis as Carlos Jereissati and 300 of his nearest and dearest celebrated Fashion Week and Brazilian luxury retail group Iguatemi. Designers, models, editors and bevies of gorgeous Brazilians bonded over dinner; Hamish Bowles and Zani Gugelmann mingled with Adriana Lima, Isabelli Fontana, Carlos Miele and Francisco Costa.
A performance by Brazilian bossa nova songstress (and daughter of Joao Gilberto) Bebel Gilberto lent the perfect ambiance to the relaxed evening. "I'm not really a party girl," explained Lima, "but this is the exception, because it's like being home in Brazil! And I know Carlos, so I just came to say hello." The gorgeous Victoria's Secret model will not be gracing any runways this season, however. "Unfortunately, I'm not going to be part of it," she confessed. "I'm working on a script that I'll be filming next week with Ugly Betty, so I'm studying the scripts and taking my acting classes."
Fashion week is always packed full of fabulous parties, and though there was no shortness of glamour at the Iguatemi bash, it was a charming, comfortable gathering of friends - maybe those Brazilians are on to something!
