The Domino Effect
(NEW YORK) Domino has become a serious arbiter of style, and come September, the magazine is offering its annual peek into how designers live. Domino's fashion issue, which hits stands on August 19, features a majestic room in Matthew Williamson's home on the cover. Other stories explore Vanessa Bruno's Paris apartment, the late Yves Saint Laurent's lush Majorelle Gardens in Marrakesh and Michael Bastian's New York City apartment. This month's "My Favorite Room" section includes Luisa Beccaria at home in Milan, Francisco Costa in his garden in Bellport, NY, Sonia Rykiel in her living room in Paris and Christian Louboutin in his bedroom in Portugal.
The magazine will celebrate the September issue with its third annual fashion party to coincide with New York's Fashion Week. The fête will take place on Wednesday, September 10 at the home of Allison Sarofim, a contributing editor at the magazine.
Editor-in-chief Deborah Needleman has been quite busy. The Domino Book of Decorating by Simon & Schuster will be released on October 14. Additionally, the magazine is launching a major web program called "My Deco File," an online scrapbooking site where users can pull inspiration from sites and decorate online. Albums can be made digitally with scans, images, and product, and then shared with friends or even a decorator.
