Young! Fabulous! But Broke?

(MALIBU) For a designer pool party, one lone look simply won't do. Carmen Electra mastered the art of the outfit change on Sunday afternoon, when she hosted a summer BBQ for the label Young Fabulous and Broke. Designers Heidi Cornell and Brad Zions showed off pieces from their new resort collection (tunics, sailor shorts and maxi dresses) while the crowd cocktailed and dug through beauty offerings by Carol's Daughter. A few even left manicured and Virginia Madsen picked out gifts for her nieces. "I wanted to create pieces in this collection that would be both comfortable and fashionable," explained Cornell. "I spent a lot of time this year traveling to exotic locales such as St. Tropez and Dubai and was inspired by the brightly colored clothing seen there. I was able to translate my vision through tunic tops and lightweight sun dresses with a hint of floral aplique along the bust and hem lines. I also for the first time included cotton sailor shorts and pants with gold button details in white and canary yellow."

"I'm spending the day poolside at Project Beach House in gorgeous Malibu, celebrating the birthday of my close personal friend and stylist," quipped Electra. "I can't think of a more relaxing way to spend a Sunday than with friends and fashion!" She wasn't the only one. Bai Ling, Matthew Perry, Luke Wilson and Mel B indulged in the poolside revelry while tunes by DJ Lethal and Sean Patrick hearalded the sunset.
