(LOS ANGELES) Dear Daily,

How are you, Daily? It's been bloody ages. Good to be back in LAlaland. Last night, I had the privilege of hosting Melanie Charlton Fascitelli's book launch Shop Your Closet at the Ports 1961 store on Melrose Place. It took blood, sweat and tears and perseverance to smush myself into my Ports cocktail frock, but after rocking it with my mother's vintage Givenchy belt, Miu Miu shoes and a Bird clutch, the look came together and I damn near forgot about my self-inflicted fashion pain.

My pal Liz Carey (of Bird Handbags) brought fellow hot mama Frankie Ryder. We sipped a little Veuve while we learned a thing or two from the book about "organizing our closets with style." Personally, I know we could all use Melanie's help when it comes to shoes alone. I've got shoes coming out of orifices in my closet that I didn't even know existed. I've got shoes who have given birth to shoes! I've got shoes who've invited all their shoe friends over for dinner, for chrissakes! The book has great tips. For instance, did you know that there are five essential hangers every closet needs? Yeah, me neither. Did not know that. This book will not cure your shoe shopping addiction, ladies, but it can help you understand how to store your 23 pairs of Louboutins. I recommend it to every fashion slut out there.

Après our soirée, we grabbed dinner at the new Bond St. Beverly Hills with Melanie and her husband Jon Fascitelli. Bond St. is a great joint with a very New York feel and I am happy to say, is vegan friendly.  We ended upstairs with a nightcap at the Thompson Hotel rooftop bar. Look, if gorgeous views of a twinkling Los Angeles cityscape and sexy people eye-candy is not your thing, then don't go there. Seriously, it's just not the place for you if you're not into that kind of thing.

Heading to Ports for the sale,
Lake Bell
