Day Four: Details's new fashion director reports live from Milan Men's Fashion Week

(PARIS) Ciao Milan and Bonjour Paris!

We leave Milan early Wednesday morning for Paris. While waiting for our luggage at Charles de Gaulle I notice that both the New York Times' Bruce Pask and Details' own Micah Johnson are both wearing one of the big trends of the season: blue gingham.

After arriving in the city center, we check in at the Hotel Costes, the epicenter of Paris Men's Fashion Week. Everyone is already there having dinner or drinks: Kevin Harter from Bloomingdale's, Louis Vuitton's Meg Carlozzi, BPMW's Deirdre Maloney and Saks Fifth Avenue's Kate Lassar.

There is a reception at the Musée de l'Homme for Stefano Pilati's Spring 2009 collection for YSL. The beautiful collection is highlighted in seven separate short films that Stefano directed himself. He told afterwards that he shot all of them in only 3 days! A touching tribute: inside the program for the films that was given to guests is a dedication to the late couturier Yves Saint Laurent.

The next day, I stop in Colette, one of my favorite shops, and buy one of Michael Bastian's navy cashmere "Leave Me Alone" sleep masks right out of the window! It's absolutely wonderful and I can't wait wear it on the flight home come Monday.
