(NEW YORK) The Plaza is becoming fashion's venue par excellence--and it hasn't even completely reopened yet. Following Chanel's chic diamond dinner two weeks ago in the Grand Ballroom, a pair of designers have confirmed their runway shows in the same opulent space. Gilles Mendel of J. Mendel and Brian Reyes will present their fall collections at The Plaza, the former taking place on February 5 at 1 p.m., while the latter will show the following morning at 9 a.m. "Fall '08 is a return to elegance and form with hints of feminine embellishment, and The Plaza Ballroom has such a history of elegance coupled with a storied past as the host to so many iconic moments, that when the opportunity arose it was almost fortuitous," Reyes explained. Perhaps Eloise will serve as inspiration?
