Dsquared photo pit collapses!
Friday, September 29, 2006
(MILAN) It seems that last season's Fendi is this season's Dsquared-and Karl Lagerfeld has nothing to do with it. As a majority of the guests at this afternoon's Dsquared show prepared to see what inventiveness the label's twin designers, Dean and Dan Caten, had in store for Spring/Summer 2007, the photographer's pit gave way due to what was assumed to be overcrowding. Unlike Fendi back in February, when one photographer was injured after that photo pit collapsed, there were luckily no ambulances or police called to the scene this time. A middle section of the structure dropped about 10 centimeters, consequently wiping out section Y, which had been reserved for guests like Cathy Horyn and Michael Roberts. Fortunately, the photographers opted not to stage a walkout, thanks to some excellent calming measures from a show publicist. They regained their positions on what steady ground was left, and the show continued on without a hitch.
