Big Love for Ginnifer Goodwin
(LOS ANGELES) The fashion and entertainment worlds mingled at Wednesday afternoon's Women in Film luncheon honoring Ginnifer Goodwin as the recipient of the MaxMara Face of the Future. Held at the Sunset Tower Hotel's Terrace Room, the gathering attracted Lauren Graham, Iris Grossman, Marilyn Heston, John Carrabino, Punch Hutton, Rose Apodaca, Rose McGowan, Jessica Paster, Hellin Kay, Glynis Costin, James Patrick Herman, Nathan Cooper, Laurie Pike, Mark Malkin, Diane English, Summer Bishil, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Navi Rawat.
"I remember when Ginnifer came into the office to meet me for the first time--this was way before Mona Lisa Smile--and she just had that A-list quality," commented Vanity Fair west coast editor Krista Smith, who co-hosted the luncheon alongside Women in Film's president Jane Fleming. "Her sincerity makes her stand out, plus, she just looks like youth! It was obvious to me that she was going to go all of the way."
While guests lunched on caesar salad, pesto-marinated chicken and miniature fruit tarts, Fleming rallied support for her non-profit organization. "As women in this industry, we need to support each other and continue to make progress in the creative arts. We're here to watch female stars like Ginnifer shine. And Ginnifer, if you ever need anything down the road, you better call us!"
Goodwin charmed the crowd with her perfectly adorable acceptance speech. "There's nothing more humbling than having folks who you respect so much tell you to keep doing what you love," said the actress, who is currently filming season three of HBO's Big Love. "I'm turning thirty in two weeks, and I'm honored to have had the roles I've had so far. I can only hope that when I'm fifty, I'll just be picking roles out of a hat, and they will all be brilliant!"
