Watch Out, Whitney!
(NEW YORK) From the Metropolitan Museum to the Whitney Museum, Rachel Bilson appears to want a command of the craft. The actress has taken over hosting duties from Kate Bosworth and will co-chair the Whitney's 2008 Art Party and auction presented by BCBG Max Azria Group and the Whitney Contemporaries.
The festive Art Party, which benefits, and marks, the museum's 40th anniversary of its independent study program and educational initiatives, will take place on June 17 at Skylight Studios. DJ Stretch Armstrong will provide the night's music while Bronson van Wyck will master the décor, inspired by the bandage dress designs from the Fall 2008 Hervé Léger by Max Azria collection shown during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
This year's silent auction will include more than 65 artworks, including a collaboration by E.V. Day and Lubov and Max Azria inspired by an Hervé Léger by Max Azria bandage dress. Other artists that have donated pieces include John Baldessari, Walead Beshty, Dike Blair, Mel Bochner, Matthew Brannon, Bozidar Brazda, Cecily Brown, Beth Campbell, and Shannon Ebner.
As previously reported, Versace will sponsor the Whitney's Gala and Studio Party on October 20.
