Tricks Aren't Just for Kids
(NEW YORK) Prada is up to its old tricks--except this time it's introducing two new lines in its popular series, exclusively for the holiday season. Priced between $130 and $225, the Teddy Bear tricks and Travel tricks are a collection of hand-crafted miniature bears and retro pieces inspired by charms made by Mario Prada, founder of the Italian fashion and accessories house. The Teddy Bear tricks are created using faux fur and recycled off-cuts salvaged from Prada's artisans' workshops, and are available in five forms named Achille, Narciso, Quirino, Nerone, and Ulisse. A complementary line of miniature tricks has also been created to adorn mobile phones. The Travel tricks collection, on the other hand, marks the first time Prada is launching a line of direct reproductions from its archive. Prada produced these objects in 1930 as magnets for the dashboards of gentlemen's cars. Engraved on metal with "Buon Viaggio," or "Have a nice trip," they're offered in three styles, each with a snap-lock hook fastener and a miniature silver Prada disk tag. The first line of personal Tricks charms, fashioned out of saffiano leather and metallic adornments, were created by Prada and included robots, lipsticks, and stiletto shoes clipped onto bags or belts or used as key rings.
