Zac Posen's Express Delivery
(NEW YORK) Zac Posen is in a charitable frame of mind, partnering with DHL to create a limited-edition tote bag that will debut at Fashion Week as part of a "Tote for Teachers" campaign. Posen and Jane Avrich, his high school English literature teacher from St. Ann's School in Brooklyn Heights, will participate in a public service announcement for TeachersCount's "Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher" series. What's more, 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of each of the $400 bags, which includes complimentary DHL ground service delivery, will benefit the national non-profit organization supporting the teaching profession.
Made from fine Italian leather in DHL's signature red and yellow colors, including a sturdy shoulder strap, the tote bag was produced in Tuscany alongside Posen's original handbag collection. To fête its launch, Posen and DHL will host an invitation-only launch party at the Bryant Park Grill on September 6 for friends Cornelia Guest, Dr. Lisa Airan, Byrdie Bell, Fern Mallis, Bettina Zilkha, Kalliope Karella, and Rena Sindi. Then it's back to the studio for Posen, who will present his spring collection on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m.
