WHAT: Catherine Malandrino flag dress
WHY: Madame Malandrino may be a Frenchie through and through, but her famous American flag dress has earned a place in fashion history since its initial presentation at her Fall 2001 runway show. Luckily for vous, the designer has carried on making the patriotic frock, and it can be yours just in time for the Fourth of July---that's this Sunday, loves! (Defying gravity not included...)
AVAILABLE: Catherine Malandrino boutiques nationwide

WHAT: Carol Marie jewel and multi-chain necklace
WHY: Girly or bad-ass? We're not sure how to classify the brand-new jewelry line by Jennifer Carol Kramer and Heather Marie White (it just launched for Fall 2010!), but whatever it is, we like it. The ladies met in 2006 while both working at W, and their stong, statement-y pieces---like this brass chain and chunky glass stone necklace---have quickly been catching the fashion crowds' eyes. It's pretty, but it's also just the tiniest bit punk...

WHAT: Bensimon tennis shoes
WHY: Because Bensimon tennies are as much a part of summer as ice cream trucks or Coppertone. (What else were you planning on wearing to that July 4th picnic on Sunday?) And while we're partial to the bright tomato-red lace-ups today, the possibilities are endless: slip-ons in cheery yellow? Ballerina-style flats in teal? High-tops in classic white? At $57 a pop, you really can collect them all.

WHAT: Irene Neuwirth onyx earrings
WHY: Jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth may be known for her colorful gems, but we're just as taken with these oversized black onyx earrings, in a color altogether missing from the rainbow. The shiny black stones are striking against 18 karat yellow gold---and lest you worry that Neuwirth's missing her splash of color, a row of bright green chrysophase stones bordering the onyx brightens things up just enough. New Yorkers may love their noir, but we say these are the best of both worlds.
AVAILABLE: By special order, Barneys New York
