Converse to discontinue Converse by John Varvatos women's line
Monday, April 13, 2009
(NEW YORK) Despite a strong run with the Converse by John Varvatos footwear and men's apparel collections, the collaboration is not forging ahead with all it's iterations. Converse has announced that they are discontinuing the Converse by John Varvatos women's line, effective April 24. The line launched in 2006 (three and a half years after Varvatos initially partnered with the footwear brand) and is sold at Bloomingdale's and specialty stores. According to an official statement from Converse, though, the footwear and menswear lines are not being affected saying, "We have a strong relationship with John and are planning to continue both the Converse by John Varvatos footwear and men's apparel lines as part of our on-going commitment to the growth of Converse."
