Monday, November 17, 2008

(NEW YORK) Just in time for the holidays, Yoox.com will launch a new area on its website dedicated to contemporary and vintage costume jewelry. Tomorrow, the Holly Brubach-curated collection goes on sale, and it will feature pieces sourced from Europe and the United States adhering to six major themes: black jewelry, cuffs and bangles, chains, pearls, party jewels, and graphics. The selection will be accompanied by online video interviews with the contemporary designers themselves conducted by Deanna Farneti Cera, an author on the subject and one of the leading private collectors of costume jewelry in the world. Deanna will sell and discuss her forthcoming book Extravagant Italian Jewelry: The Great Works of Coppola and Toppo. One-of-a-kind works by Kenneth Jay Lane, Schiaparelli, Chanel, Zoe Coste, Miriam Haskell, Trifari, Ciner, Coppola & Toppo and Correani will be up for grabs alongside works by new designers.
