Lauren Bush launches e-commerce site for charitable tote
Wednesday, October 15, 2008
(NEW YORK) World Food Program ambassador Lauren Bush is rarely seen without her FEED 100 bag, even at the chicest of events. The reusable shopping tote benefits FEED, the charity she launched to feed school children in Africa. The bag debuted in May 2008, when it was available at Whole Foods stores. Charitably-minded celebs like Natalie Portman and Reese Witherspoon quickly caught on. Now, the tote is available online for $30 at www.feedprojects.org. "Creating the FEED 100 bag was inspired by the need to take better care of children and the planet at the same time," said Bush. Now that the bag is online, even those not near a Whole Foods store can contribute to the cause. One tote provides 100 school-aged children in Rwanda with lunch. In the last year, FEED has raised over $4 million for the United Nations World Food Program.
