Bensimon's New Gig?

(PARIS) Gilles Bensimon was a no-show during New York's Fashion Week, given that he decamped for Paris to work on a top-secret project. He didn't show at Elle's Women in Hollywood awards on Monday, either, although he photographed all the top starlets that appeared in the magazine.

But The Daily did spot the celebrated photographer at several shows in Paris. He arrived at the Grand Palais for the Chanel show via towncar with none other than former colleague Nina Garcia. Now the fashion director of Marie Claire, Garcia has been vocal about her desire to amp up the magazine's fashion coverage, most notably by hiring new photographers. Industry insiders are buzzing that she and editor in chief Joanna Coles are attempting to woo the international creative director of Elle to Hearst, given that his contract at Hachette Filippachi expires at the end of the year. Coles did not respond to several requests for comment.
