Rock & Republic Hits the Trail
(NEW YORK) With a new cosmetics collection bowing in September and the Spring 2009 collection scheduled to show on Saturday, September 6 at 8:00 p.m. in The Tent at Bryant Park, it's shaping up to be a busy year for Rock & Republic. The brand's CEO and creative director Michael Ball assembled quite the team for the brand's first major ising campaign, which will drop in September books. Ball enlisted Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, who served as artistic director, as well as photographer Mark Segal and stylist Keegan Singh. In fact, it was a family affair for Restoin-Roitfeld, whose brother Vladimir modeled in the campaign.
"It was important for our first ad campaign to convey power, strength, confidence and a beautiful image," said Ball. Aside from the major fashion books, the ad will also appear in Restoin-Roitfeld's boyfriend Magnus Berger's The Last Magazine, which will feature a spread from the campaign in its oversized pages. The couple met at Baron & Baron, where Magnus still works.
"I got to put together and work with an amazing creative team. It was also a great pleasure to work with the Rock & Republic team who believed in my ideas and concept from the beginning," said Restoin-Roitfeld. "I took this project very personally and I am so happy with the way it turned out!"
To toast the campaign, Restoin-Roitfeld will host a party in Paris during fashion week alongside Ball and R & R president Andrea Bernholtz.
