Pilati's Protagonist

Jack Huston to star in YSL Spring 2009 men's video
Tuesday, June 24, 2008

(NEW YORK) Stefano Pilati is returning to the big screen to showcase his YSL Spring 2009 men's collection. He has tapped Jack Huston to star in the video as the new protagonist for his second film, Fashion Week Daily has learned exclusively. The 25-year-old English actor is the grandson of director John Huston and nephew of actress Anjelica Huston.

The project will debut on the evening of Wednesday, June 25, at a private viewing at Paris' Musée de l'Homme, kicking off Paris Men's Fashion Week. The intimate presentation for a select crowd of Gucci Group executives, editors-in-chief and Pilati's close fashion confidantes will be followed by two days of press viewings by appointment.

In January, Pilati eschewed a traditional runway show for his YSL Fall 2008 men's collection, instead presenting looks through an innovative video installation. It was produced with directors Sarah Chatfield and Chris Sweeney of the London-based music video production company Colonel Blimp and shown at the YSL showroom at 16 rue d'Artois. At the time, a YSL spokesman said, "Stefano's idea is to make the experience of seeing a collection more intimate, to reduce the distance between the viewer and the collection."
