Forever in Black Jeans
Friday, May 30, 2008
(NEW YORK) Sophia Kokosalaki is venturing into new territory, launching a capsule denim line with backer Staff International (which also owns Diesel) that will debut in July in Milan along with her main collection. Approximately eight pieces make up the all-black Japanese denim collection, including stretch trousers, jeans, jackets and shirt skirts. All pieces will incorporate the designer's trademark details like curved lines, graphic stitching and Lyra emblem. They will be offered in solely one color: black. Special care has been placed on the finishing of the Japanese denim with the use of a new micromulsione technique for a "soft hand." The set prices, which range from $389 to $1,245, place Kokosalaki's designs at the high end of the denim market.
