Philip Crangi's Design Edition Dilemma
Tuesday, April 15, 2008
(NEW YORK) As oft happens in the fashion industry, one cannot predict the exact timing of deliveries. Shoppers in Manhattan keen on purchasing the Philip Crangi Gap Design Edition bracelets scheduled to make their nationwide debut this morning were alerted by helpful Gap employees that the merchandise was temporarily unavailable. "There was a shipment delay and they should be in stores in about three days," said a manager at Gap's 18th & Fifth Avenue store. A Gap spokeswoman confirmed the shipment delay, but added that it was limited to only Gap stores in the Northeast carrying the full assortment of limited-edition pieces from Crangi, Threeasfour, and Michael Bastian (Phillip Lim's designs were made available at all Gap stores). "The jewelry will be in stores in the Northeast on Thursday," she added. In the meantime, customers can purchase Crangi's designs, as well as those of the other three designers, from Gap's Web site while supplies last.
