Wednesday, March 19, 2008

(NEW YORK) On Tuesday, Brooks Brothers announced that it has signed LPGA Tour player Taylor Leon as the company's first-ever female brand ambassador for the Brooks Brothers Country Club Collection. Leon will represent the brand on the course and appear in the Brooks Brothers Country Club Spring 2008 catalog. She wears a variety of active looks, including some from the recently launched ProSport range. "Taylor is a natural fit for Brooks Brothers because she demonstrates great passion and ability," commented Claudio Del Vecchio, Brooks Brothers chairman and chief executive officer. "We are thrilled to have her join our winning team as she embarks on her professional career."

The 21-year old Dallas, Texas native turned professional in May 2007 after attending the University of Georgia. There, she was a two-time NGCA All-American selection, SEC Player of the Year, and named to the 2006 United States Curtis Cup Team. Since turning professional, she has won twice on the Duramed Futures Tour and had four top 10 finishes in eight starts. She has also competed in the 2007 United States Women's Open. In December, Leon attended the LPGA Tour qualifying school and finished 20th, which gave her status on the LPGA Tour.

Leon joins current PGA Tour players and Brooks Brothers ambassadors Scott Verplank and James Driscoll.
