Manifest Destiny

(NEW YORK) Stefano Pilati is taking his Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto to the streets once again. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the spring campaign stars Kate Moss and will be distributed to passersby starting Saturday in London and Milan (after both cities' Fashion Weeks have concluded), Sunday in Tokyo, February 27 in New York and Paris (the latter during that city's week of shows), and April 19 in Hong Kong. In total, over one million copies are expected to be dispersed.
 
This season, Pilati is also launching a traveling public installation featuring life-size images from the Manifesto. These photos, in keeping with the multidimensional platform communicated in January at the YSL men's show, will appear for one day during distribution of the pamphlet in select cities. In addition, a behind-the-scenes Manifesto video will premiere on Feb. 25 exclusively on ysl.com. Once again, Pilati's made fashion political.
