A Robbery at Rykiel

London bike gang strikes again
Wednesday, October 24, 2007

(LONDON) The break-ins of high-end stores in London do not seem to be abating anytime soon, with the latest incident taking place early this morning at Sonia Rykiel's Brook Street boutique. Despite the robbery being discovered almost immediately, the thieves were not apprehended.

Rykiel's Brook Street store manager confirmed that the store was burgled, stating, "At half past midnight, our store was robbed and merchandise stolen, although I can't reveal the value of goods stolen as a police inquiry has been made. We are pretty certain it was a gang who escaped on scooters." Efforts are being made to raise security levels in London stores but this incident is the latest in a series of assaults on London's luxury labels, which have included Marc Jacobs, Roger Vivier, Luella, FrostFrench, Ralph Lauren, cashmere maker Brora, Christopher Kane's studio, and Anya Hindmarch's Ledbury Road store, burgled a little over a week ago on October 16.
