The Bump Beneath the Gown

(LOS ANGELES) A newly pregnant Naomi Watts wore Escada at Sunday's Oscars, but the fashion house insists it did not inently spill the baby beans. "She announced it [her pregnancy] on the red carpet and we didn't want people to think the dress looked funny in the stomach area," explained an Escada publicist of the decision to include Watts' pregnancy in the press release.

Regardless, the Australian beauty, who's said to be a little more than four months pregnant, was resplendent-with nary an inch of fabric out of place-in a custom-made empire waist pale yellow silk georgette gown with a sapphire blue satin sash accented with pleated chiffon bow and train. The 113 carats worth of Chopard diamonds and sapphires Watts donned certainly helped to distract from her bump as well. This is the actress' first baby with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber.
