Tuesday, January 23, 2007
(NEW YORK) Azzedine Alaïa is the latest fashion powerhouse to dress Le Book.

The three next editions of the one-stop compilation of thousands of addresses, phone numbers, and visuals of photographers, art directors, fashion designers, publicists, ising agencies, and magazines throughout Europe and the U.S.-on which Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, Yohji Yamamoto, and Christian Lacroix have all put their own unique spin-will offer a walk in the designer's universe, beginning with New York, which offers the vision of Jean-Paul Goude, a long-time accomplice of Alaïa. Fabric, needles, and scissors for one, camera and film montage for the other, both recompose, exaggerate, and finally sublimate the woman's body.

Of the covers planned for the New York edition, due out later this month, one features "Azzedine and Farida," a print cut and reworked with adhesive tape by Goude; another shows Beatrice Dalle as an exuberant Parisian, carrying the genie himself in a treasure box from the house of Alaïa. Le Book London, the second panel of the trilogy due out in March, will present personal work from Sarah Moon, inspired by Alaïa's most recent creations. The Paris edition, due out in June, will feature a photographer whose name has not yet been revealed. The titles are available at Jeffrey, M.A.C stores, the MoMa store in New York, Colette in Paris, and 10 Corso Como in Milan.
