Thursday, January 18, 2007

(NEW YORK) Stephen Burrows may have expanded his brand by designing 25 matte jersey dresses boasting lower price points, but he won't show them on the catwalk anytime soon. The designer sent out a fax late Wednesday informing members of the fashion press that his Fall 2007 show, originally scheduled for February 3 at 3:00 p.m., has been cancelled. "Thanks for all your requests for invitations to my show," Burrows wrote. "I have decided to cancel the show due to time constraints; it's just impossible to do as some of my goods won't arrive on time."

Instead, Burrows will host a press preview on February 4 at from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Due per Due, the manufacturing company making the S. by Burrows line. Inspired by Anna Cleveland, the daughter of his muse, Pat Cleveland, the color-blocked pieces with lettuce edging detail are offered in shifts, chemises, and demi fit dresses in shades of grey, mulberry, coco, and black.
