House Beautiful Announces 'Giants of Design'

(NEW YORK) There's a new crop of design heavyweights on the block. House Beautiful magazine today announced its 2006 "Giants of Design" honorees, who will be acknowledged on May 11 at a black-tie gala at Cipriani 42nd Street. The seventh-annual group of distinguished recipients, who are being recognized as part of the magazine's ongoing efforts to highlight top visionaries in the world of design, include Vera Wang-tastemaker; Frank Gehry-architecture; Bunny Williams-interior design; Julius Shulman-photography; and Williams-Sonoma founder Chuck Williams-visionary retailer. Each honoree will be profiled in the magazine's June issue-on newsstands in mid-May-while a special "Giants of Design" gatefold has also been created for subscriber copies. Chrysler is the presenting sponsor of the event for the fourth year, and joins additional sponsors, including the New York Design Center, Princess Cruises, Links of London, and Philips.
