Kate Spade Has "It"
Wednesday, March 22, 2006
(NEW YORK) Kate Spade is one designer who hasn't succumbed to the "It" bag craze. As a tongue-in-cheek response to the dizzying handbag fad perpetuated by many of Hollywood's young starlets, the accessories pioneer has collaborated with Hugo Guinness to create a special canvas bag that bears the word "It"-hand printed by the artist-on the corner. The limited-edition tote, of which only 150 will be produced, will be available at Kate Spade boutiques and Colette in Paris for $250 beginning this season. But Spade's not done yet. She and Guinness are also working on a series of five print totes to be available next spring. First up: a bag printed by woodblock.
