Kate Spade Has "It"

The cheeky tote you'll need this season...
Wednesday, March 22, 2006
(NEW YORK) Kate Spade is one designer who hasn't succumbed to the "It" bag craze. As a tongue-in-cheek response to the dizzying handbag fad perpetuated by many of Hollywood's young starlets, the accessories pioneer has collaborated with Hugo Guinness to create a special canvas bag that bears the word "It"-hand printed by the artist-on the corner. The limited-edition tote, of which only 150 will be produced, will be available at Kate Spade boutiques and Colette in Paris for $250 beginning this season.

But Spade's not done yet. She and Guinness are also working on a series of five print totes to be available next spring. First up: a bag printed by woodblock.
