Zac's Posen As A Denim Designer

(NEW YORK) Zac Posen is no stranger to denim, having worked with it in past collections. But this fall, the designer takes denim to a new level, in a collection of three limited-edition styles of jeans he has produced with 7 for all mankind exclusively for Neiman Marcus.

"The combination of Zac Posen's incredible design translated into denim is the perfect combination," said Ann Stordahl, executive vice president of women's apparel at Neiman Marcus.

The first pair of jeans features the look and feel of an elegant trouser married to the classic fit of a five-pocket jean. It features brand identifying markers, not to mention special "Z" for Zac Posen rivets. The designer's second offering: a pair of distressed, elongated, and slim-fitting flare jeans that feature a burst of floral embroidered stitching which debuted during Posen's recent fall 2005 collection. A distinguishing element on this pair is the unique multi-ethnic "Heiress Tassel" that dangles from a belt loop. The accessory is removable, but only through a key that is provided upon purchase. And lastly, there's the New York Dark wash jean. This version boasts an enlarged "Z" in antique pewter rivets on the right back pocket and smaller logo rivets all around the circumference of the waistband. The line is priced at $450, $700, and $995, respectively. "They're sexy, edgy, and exude the future of real everyday glamour," Posen said.

All three styles will carry an exclusive one-of-a-kind Zac Posen pendant in antique pewter that will hang from a thread of royal purple silk and yellow stitching. The pendant is marked by a "Z" logo on the front and "Zac Posen for 7 for all mankind Exclusively for Neiman Marcus" on the back. Neiman's is limiting the purchase of the jeans to one per customer, per style.

The jeans will launch at Neiman's 36 stores during The HIP Event from October 7-8, a biannual offering from the retailer to coincide with the launch of new products for men and women.
