Earn Your Wings

(NEW YORK) Can you walk the runway like an Angel? Victoria's Secret challenged young women from across the nation to participate in an extensive model search where one winner will earn her wings as a Victoria's Secret Runway Angel. After holding casting calls in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago, VS has tapered the competition down to ten hopefuls. The contestants are living together, sorority-style, in The District, a luxury condo in New York's Financial District. During their time in New York, they will participate in Angel Boot Camp, a training program that will whip the girls into top model shape and put them through a series of modeling challenges. Weekly webisodes of all the model boot camp action will air on VSAllAccess.com and CBS.com, and beginning November 9th viewers can vote on their favorite Angel hopeful.

We caught up with the finalists this morning at home, and they opened up about what it's like to be a doe-eyed aspiring model dropped in the middle of modeling world chaos. "I miss my horses!" confessed 23 year-old Allison Turner. "And I miss the cows, the chickens, my dogs..." Hailing from Missouri, Turner grew up on a farm but became obsessed with glamour. "I definitely watched all of those model competition shows. Afterwards, I would dress up in a cute dress and model in front of my mirror. The practice paid off." The youngest in the house, 18 year-old Katelyn Fortes, admitted, "I miss screaming at my little brother! There's no screaming here, though; we all get along." While the girls shared plenty of sisterly smiles during their photo shoot, they all were quick to announce that the competition is about to heat up. "Oh yes! Definitely. Every day you feel it more and more," explained 20 year-old Krystina Holbrook.

While the girls have just begun their boot camp tests, they are savvy enough to know that any type of intense challenge could lay ahead. "We never really know what is next! I have a black belt in Taekwondo, and that background has helped me a lot in the past," revealed 25 year-old Tika Ivezaj. Will the girls have to put their martial arts skills to the test?
