(NEW YORK) The retail scene is a bleak one indeed, so no wonder that powerhouses like Neiman Marcus are getting a bit creative in their quest to lure shoppers to stores this season. For its Fall 2008 trend event, which takes place from Friday, August 15 to Saturday, August 23, the company will reveal the big ideas behind the season's clothes. For women, the store will focus on berry colors, satin, high-vamp shoes, lace, sleek shapes, romantic blouses, and statement jewelry. Menswear looks will involve shades of gray, peak lapels, peacoats, cardigans, vests, and exotics. Bonus: Any customer who spends $250 anywhere in the store will be gifted an exclusive Neiman Marcus PDA/mobile phone cover. The color? Berry, of course.
