Barbie Dolls!
(NEW YORK) Fast-fashion giant Mango has found a new muse in that timeless, ageless clotheshorse: Barbie. The Barcelona-based retailer, whose brand is called MNG by Mango in the U.S. for trademark reasons, has created a collection of T-shirts for Barbie under the name Barbie by MNG Jeans.
The six-piece collection will launch in July in virtually all countries where MNG by Mango has presence. The items will be available on its Web site, according to a release, and retail for between $25 to $29. A new capsule collection will debut this fall as well.
Barbie has evolved from mere doll status to a fashion icon. She's been recreated by MNG by MANGO with an aura that's equal parts edgy and casual. The collection offers printed T-shirts inspired by the fifties, seventies and eighties.
"This collaboration gives our company added value and a differentiating and surprise factor, since it offers our customers a new product associated with a traditional brand like Barbie, which has been part of their childhood, as well as adding another design and trend to their wardrobes," commented Ninona Vila, MNG by Mango's public relations manager.
