These Shoes are Made for Walking

Diane von Furstenberg tackles footwear

(NEW YORK) Diane von Furstenberg takes her relationship with women seriously. Her commitment to chic attire that is as comfortable as it is sexy has made her brand a global favorite. Just in time for spring, the ageless designer has launched her first full line of shoes.

"I wanted to create power shoes for the woman on-the-go and on her feet," said von Furstenberg. "My shoes are not just pretty accessories; they are functional and serve a purpose. Women on-the-go need power, comfort, and fashion."

The collection, which consists of 12 looks, is based on the principles of strength, support, and style. Select designs made an early appearance on her recent spring runway show in place of her tried-and-true Christian Louboutins, specially designed versions of which she had utilized exclusively on her catwalk.

Staying true to her working-girl heritage, the power pump is back--this time recast as a CEO heel--along with a variety of other heel heights and shapes. Rubber soles stamped with the DVF signature logo and cushiony inserts combined with metallic leather, colorful signature prints, denim, canvas, or perforated suede shape the "comfy chic" collection. For nighttime elegance, the Provence in gold is a versatile strappy heel while the Dolce--a black flat sandal with the love knot detail, a signature this season--is the ideal casual alternative. In between the two is the Molto, a gold wedge sandal that's a perfect complement to von Furstenberg's airy dresses.

The collection arrives mid-February at Diane von Furstenberg shops worldwide, specialty stores, and select department stores. Prices range from $195 to $350, with novelty pairs priced at $400 or more. Get ready to pound the pavement with DVF.
