Sundance Channel to air style features and documentaries this February
Monday, November 05, 2007

(NEW YORK) For the masses not invited to New York Fashion Week, the Sundance Channel is providing unprecedented access this February to some of the world's most notable designers with "Ready to Watch," six nights of style-oriented feature films and documentary series.

The lineup includes the U.S. television premiere of Loïc Prigent's Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton; Douglas Keeve's Seamless; Gero von Boehm's Karl Lagerfeld is Never Happy Anyway; David Teboul's Yves St. Laurent: 5 Avenue Marceau 75116 Paris; Gillian Armstrong's Unfolding Florence; and William Klein's 1966 comedy Who Are You Polly Maggoo? For those who can't get enough of Jacobs, Prigent's documentary follows the designer and his team from New York to Tokyo to Paris, highlighting the design process from conception to runway for both Jacobs' eponymous line and the Louis Vuitton Spring 2007 collections.

The series will coincide with the Fall/Winter 2008 collections from February 4 to 9. The week will kick off on Monday with the Signé Chanel marathon, also directed by Prigent; the five-part documentary miniseries reveals the making of Chanel's Fall/Winter 2004-2005 collection. Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton will also premiere that night. In addition, the week will include a reprisal of the eight-part original series House of Boateng, which follows European menswear designer Ozwald Boateng as he tries to duplicate his overseas success in the United States.
