Rachel Zoe's New Muse

Condé Nast intern Elana Fishman's fashion debut

(NEW YORK) Teen Vogue is putting Rachel Zoe's styling skills to the test. Sources at the Condé Nast title-the recent victim of a Page Six item proclaiming its imminent closure-revealed that fashion news intern Elana Fishman, a 20-year-old New York University student from Weston, Florida, is Zoe's newest "canvas." Fishman's been seen hamming it up for photographers at several recent high-profile parties, including the launch of Sienna and Savannah Miller's Twenty8Twelve clothing line, the CFDA new members cocktail soirée, and, most recently, at the David Yurman rooftop party. In all three instances, she was accompanied by her boss and Teen Vogue's fashion news director, Jane Keltner. "She's just a pretty young thing," Keltner said when asked about Fishman's sudden presence on the scene. "I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of her in the future."

A selection of quotes from Fishman's Facebook profile, which sound suspiciously like limericks from UK-based Henry Holland's catchy T-shirts, vouch for her love of fashion: "Touch me there Ghesquière; Shake your thang Alexander Wang; Hot Damn Derek Lam; Bound and Tied by Sass and Bide." Some may argue that Fishman, who graduated from the University School in 2005, has thick skin to subject herself to the often inauspicious world of fashion, but regardless, she most certainly has lofty pursuits in mind. She wrote in her high school yearbook that she aspires to be the editor in chief of Vogue. The story is slated to run in the October issue. A Teen Vogue spokeswoman was unavailable for comment.
