Fendi Walks the Wall
Friday, February 23, 2007
(MILAN) Turns out Karl Lagerfeld's back-to-back Fendi shows Thursday are only the tip of the iceberg. Backstage, Lagerfeld revealed that he's bringing the Fendi Fall/Winter 2007 show to China, where it will be restaged on The Great Wall-literally. "No joke," said Fendi CEO Michael Burke. "We're not talking backdrop. The entire wall will function as a runway for the show." Though the international spectacle is scheduled to take place May 24, less than a week after Lagerfeld presents another collection-Chanel Cruise-in Los Angeles, the man of many talents isn't concerned. "I have a lot of people working for me, like Mao," Lagerfeld quipped.
