Jessica Joffe: girl-about-town and now the face of a new Banana Republic fragrance
Wednesday, May 17, 2006
(NEW YORK) She's known in fashion circles as the tall girl-about-town with the curly red hair, and now Jessica Joffe is finally putting her good looks to use. The former New York Observer scribe is one of five fresh faces cast for Banana Republic's new Discover collection of men's and women's fragrances, due out in September.

The combination of color and black-and-white images, of which one face was paired with one scent, has Joffe representing the Jade fragrance-a floral-fruity mixture of tropical grenade, musky cotton flower, and Kashmir wood. The press notes encourage editors to "discover vibrant optimism" with the scent, which "pops with flirtation and contagious vigor." The sage-colored fragrance, available in three sizes, is packaged in an acorn-shaped glass bottle.

Matthew Brookes shot the campaign and creative agency AR art directed. "It's about being vibrant, and that's what she is," said Deborah Lloyd, Banana Republic's executive vice president of product development and design. "I love her powerful red hair." The remaining four faces cast in the campaign are models Caroline Ribiero, Guinevere, Angel, and Anderson.
