Bush Goes Green

(NEW YORK) Though Lauren Bush also has a line of clothing and accessories in the works, unlike many of her fellow bold-faced colleagues, she isn't looking to reap monetarily from the expansion in her portfolio. The niece of President Bush is working on an organic concept of lifestyle branding for which she will be the spokeswoman-and likely the face. Her name, however, won't appear on any labels, and there certainly won't be any "Lauren Bush" shop-in-shops at the local Macy's or Bloomingdales. At the Michael Kors show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City, Bush was photographed carrying a burlap shoulder bag that read "Feed the Children of the World" on the side. "Each bag will feed a child in school for a year through the United Nations World Food Program," said Bush, an ambassador of the cause, of the double-handled "Feed Bag" tote, which will go on sale at Amazon.com April 1. As for that other, slightly larger scale initiative, she responded, "Nothing's really been set yet; I'm mainly focusing on the Feed project."
