Prada Fall/Winter 2016

by The Daily Front Row

It’s a cinch! Corset vibes aside, Miuccia Prada’s madcap take on Fall was derived, in part, from ideas explored during her most recent menswear collection. Illustrations by Christophe Chemin appeared on button-up shirts, anoraks, and long jackets. Argyle and diamond-print tights complemented most looks. Rich tweeds and quilted coats partied on with grocades and patchwork florals. And the coats, the coats! Whether it was fur-sleeved and soft-shouldered or simply a velvet cape, the military sentiment loomed large. On the accessory front, charms were the major idea, and they appeared on chokers as well as belts and bags. Lace-up booties, patent leather loafers, and color-blocked hiking boots dominated the many exceptional footwear offerings.
