Since Bradford Shellhammer departed the company he co-founded, Fab.com, in late 2013, many have wondered what the wunderkind’s next move would be. Today he announced the creation of Bezar, a members-only e-commerce startup offering carefully curated modern design. Officially launching in Spring 2015, the site will enable emerging designers to reach design fans and allow shoppers to discover new talent. Every day the site will launch online pop-up shops featuring designers’ collections in art, home, jewelry, and accessories in a range of prices. Shellhammer ‘s co-founders for his new venture include Justin Chen as CFO, Matt Baer as COO, and PieterJan Mattan as creative director. Bezar is also supported by advisors including Whoopi Goldberg. Investors include Burch Capital (we reported earlier today that the company is working with Ellen DeGeneres on her new clothing line), HSN’s Mindy Grossman and Yves Béhar. Since leaving Fab, Shellhammer set up a retail consultancy and design firm based in New York. Fast Company named him one of the 100 most creative people in business.
