Stella McCartney - Paris Spring 2009
(PARIS) McCartney is one of the most jovial designers in the business, full of such passion for her work that it has almost had the awful tendency to render her clothing slightly flat by comparison. This season, say goodbye to all that underappreciation, as McCartney sent out a killer collection of cool-girl separates. There were plenty of sleek bandage dresses, boyfriend jackets, trench dresses, and perfect suits--all done in femme colors like her signature shell pink. The looks debuted against a coloring book-inspired backdrop by brothers Jake and Dinos Chapman, which contrasted nicely with the romantic cut-out and techy chainmail dresses. In the audience, Sir Paul (who expressed a preference for the austere lucite-heeled sandals) wasn't the only one sporting a serious grin.
