Rick Owens - Paris Fashion Week Spring 2008
Rick Owens's Spring 2008 collection was black, white, and tucked all over. This season Owens reinvented his palette and aesthetic, opting for muted greys in softer fabrics as opposed to harsher leather looks. Owens created V-necks and turtlenecks that drew the focus to the face while the fabrics draped the rest of the body in a loose fitting silhouette. He also played with the sleeves of jackets and tops, opting for a cropped kimono feel. Side pockets and intersecting patterns gave depth to the collection despite the plain colors. And black and white graphics in stripes and geometric patterns blended together, creating an optical illusion.
