The Cinema Society And Stuart Weitzman’s ‘Cinderella’ Premiere

by Zachary Weiss

On Sunday afternoon, The Cinema Society and Stuart Weitzman hosted a premiere of Cinderella at The Tribeca Grand Hotel, with leading lady Lily James on hand for the occasion. Paul’s Baby Grand was transformed into a tea party fit for a princess and hoards of celebrity kids, including Ethan Hawke and his crew of kids along. “I couldn’t believe it. I felt totally transformed in it,” James said of her signature blue Cinderella ball gown. “It felt like a suit of armor. I was like, ‘How can I be a princess? How can I ever get by?!’ I was fine in the simple Ella dress, but the gown did it all for me. I’m like the opposite of this in my free time, so it was really amazing!”

James was joined by her Prince Charming counterpart, Richard Madden, who gushed about his time on set. “Lily’s so great to work with, and so free and fun, so we had a ball working together,” he divulged. “Our first day of filming was probably the most fun. We spent the day galloping around on horses in the woods!” Stacy Bendet also arrived with her daughter Eloise in tow, while Vanity Fair EIC Graydon Carter took in the screening alongside his kids daughters Isabella and Bronwyn. Plus! Look out for Stuart Weitzman’s modern interpretation of the classic Cinderella shoe, which hits department stores across the globe today.
