(PARIS) As soon as the Gareth Pugh show had begun, the Palais de Tokyo was exploding with a pulsating techno soundrack and the designer's ferocious leather and chain work. Both guys and gals stormed the runway in what eventually looked like The Matrix revisited: flawless cuts, fearless noir and gray edges, and perfectly cut jackets. Abbey Lee led the sheer linear parade while Frida Gustavsson strolled in a superhero-like cape column. Pugh's work this season was bold, confident, and--more so than in the past--very commercially viable.
